SL Series Additions – Long Surface Mount Diodes

November 28th, 2017

Dean Technology, Inc., today announced the addition of three more parts to its SL series of surface mount high voltage diodes. The three new parts, the SLA20S, SLA25S, and SLA30S bring the highest voltage rating seen in a surface mount diode with peak inverse voltage ratings of 20,000, 25,000 and 30,000 volts respectively.

“These new SL diodes show just how much voltage we can handle in our longer surface mount package,” said Scott Wilson, sales manager for Dean Technology, Inc. “This is just the tip of the iceberg, and the full lineup of parts we will have in this package will mean that any customer that has been wanting to make the conversion to surface mount, but couldn’t because of performance limitations, will now be able to. I am very excited to talk with our customers about the cost savings this can mean for them.”

With the initial introduction of the SL series in May of 2017, and these additional parts DTI is beginning to fill in the full roadmap for the long surface mount diode design with releases continuing in the first quarter of 2018. An additional gull wing lead configuration is also in the final stages of design, and the first products using this technology are expected to be produced shortly. Custom diodes in the new long surface mount package can be produced now, for customers that have specific needs not met by the standard products available with the initial introduction. Full product details can be found on the company’s website, and are available directly from Dean Technology or through any approved sales channel.
